the Aroma Art Project
Drawers. Display Cabinet. Box.
This was commissioned by an aromatherapy masseur. A project entitled Aroma Art. 13 artists were invited to collaborate. Each had to create pieces that represented a strong childhood memory, one that was influenced by a comforting aroma.
My client commissioned a local paper mill in Somerset to infuse sheets of handmade paper with chamomile flowers.
My contribution was to use this paper to make something that housed each piece. Originally, the request was for a book but I thought that apothecary style drawers would be more appropriate for the project. The two remaining compartments within this cabinet were filled with chamomile flowers.
